Today, I will again be talking to you about ways in which you can get to your life’s purpose. And about how to have fun along the way! So, let’s do this!
Doing what you loved in childhoodcan be a step towards finding purpose. It’s by getting back into those activities that gave us joy, and put us in a state of bliss as kids, that we may get closer to finding our purpose.
Quietening the mind is also a wonderful way to create those gaps between our thoughts where true inspiration and Eureka moments can come! Quietening the mind can also cause us to become more aware of thoughts that make us feel discomfort. But by feeling the discomfort, and by sitting with it, we can work towards dealing with those uncomfortable thoughts and start to work through them.
Another, more activity-based way of finding your purpose, is to look at the kinds of activities that have been trying to get out of you. By exploring the activities or projects that you started some time ago, that for some reason, you have not finished, you may find that you are in process. Maybe the thoughts and feelings you currently have, and the activities you find yourself drawn to are currently the part of you that is birthing your purpose.
Another practical way in which we can tap into our purpose is to free write, or do some free writing. Free writing is a writing strategy, which is similar to, but not the same as brainstorming or journaling. You write whatever comes into your mind, and do so without pausing for thought, and without over-thinking.
Follow your intuition – without compromise. The more you follow your intuition, the more it will guide you. It’s a bit like using a map. In the words of Jonas Salk, the American virologist and medical researcher, who invented one of the first successful Polio vaccines: “Intuition, will tell the thinking mind, where to look next.”
And you should take a listen to Ed Mylett talk about what he calls “touching the dream”! The link to The Ed Mylett Show is in the notes below.
And finally, whatever you do, please enjoy the journey my friends!
